Update!

How far along?: 18 Weeks! Can't believe I'm almost halfway there!
Total Weight Gain: I actually gained about 2lbs according to the scale this morning. It was bound to happen sometime!
How big is baby?: 10 inches head to toe, the legs are longer now so we can measure head to toe instead of head to butt!
Best moment this week?: The acrobatics the baby was doing when I was at work.
Movement: Yup, I can feel the little nudges in there!
Food cravings?: bacon (AJ's craving this too! lol), ramen with tobasco
Belly button in or out?: In still but I can tell it will pop in the next month or so. I can see the inside of my belly button when I couldn't before!
What I'm looking forward to: ONE WEEK UNTIL THE ULTRASOUND!!
Milestone: The baby can stretch out now and has fingerprints and toe prints!
Feelings this week?: This week has been pretty hectic, I started my new shift at work and got a pretty bad cold. But really besides the coughing and sneezing I couldn't be any happier. AJ and I are growing every day. We're looking at all the fun baby things together and we are both (believe it or not!) ready to go shopping and get the registry done. We cleaned the baby's room today and got rid of all the excess furniture in that room.... now I just want to know what it is so I can start looking at stuff seriously!! AJ's been pretty good to me. He helped me clean house today and moved all the heavy stuff for me without complaints. Plus he has dealt with my incessent coughing the last few nights without complaint. God really broke the mold when he made my husband. :-) I am a little nervous about our ultrasound, I'm sure everything will be just fine, but I am anxious to hear that from the Dr. In reality I really just need to stop watching the baby shows on TLC and Discovery Health, lol.

The Cold From Hell.

A few days ago I woke up with a horrible head cold. I have been lucky not to get sick this entire pregnancy... at least until now. Unfortunately all I can take is tylenol so no cold meds for me. I picked up some vicks and some vitamin C cough drops yesterday (I can't even have medicated cough drops), so I'm hoping that will help me feel better. I also found out that gargling with Salt water is supposed to help with the sore throat and all the mucous I have hanging around back there. (Unfortunately a weird side effect of my pregnancy is that phlegm makes me gag.) I'm hoping I start to feel better soon, if I'm still feeling like this by Monday I'm going to have to get into my primary Dr for an appointment to see if I can get something to make me feel better.

Other than that tomorrow starts my new shift. So I will be able to get some extra sleep, I REALLY think that that will help me feel better. Waking up at 7:30 instead of 5:00 is a pretty significant difference and sleep is really important when you're sick and when you're pregnant so I know that will help. I am a little apprehensive about my new team because I don't know a single person on that team. I'm sure I will make new friends, but I am no good at socializing with people I don't know, so it will take a while. That's good and bad though, I do feel like it will help me focus more on work.

I am feeling the baby move more every day and it is exciting to feel that... A month or so and AJ should be able to feel it too... I can't wait till that moment. : ) Only 10 1/2 days until my ultrasound!!

Weekly Update!

How far along?: 17 Weeks! Only 3 weeks until I'm officially halfway through!
Total Weight Gain: None! :-)
How big is baby?: 6 inches, weighs 7 ounces, almost halfway to the 1 lb mark!
Best moment this week?: The dream I had about the baby.
Movement?: I just don't know, everyone talks about it like it feels all fluttery, I haven't felt that, more like teeny muscle twitches. Hopefully in the next few weeks it'll be more prominent.
Food cravings?: Starburst, Carmel Delight Girl Scout Cookies, Cereal.
Belly button in or out?: In
What I'm looking forward to: The Gender Ultrasound, 2 weeks!
Milestone: The baby can hear my voice and voices around us!
Feelings this week?: I am so happy. Just happy all the time. I never thought that I would enjoy this so much, I thought pregnancy was supposed to be this miserable thing that a woman goes through to bring her child into the world... at least that's how most people talk about it. But I am just enjoying every second, every tiny thing. I sometimes catch myself staring at my belly in windows, and I have a habit of petting it now all the time. I'm feeling so great right now, I know I've only got a little while longer of feeling this good before I start to get uncomfortable so I'm enjoying every second of it. I've also noticed that AJ seems almost infatuated with me right now, I don't know why but I catch him staring at me sometimes and I ask what he's looking at and he just says, "You're pretty..." It makes me smile. :-)

Impatient.....

I know, I know, patience is supposed to be a virtue, I guess I'm just not feeling very virtuous right now... *sigh* There are 18 more days until we know what we're having, but most importantly to know that everything is okay with our little one... 18 days doesn't seem that long when you say it, but in reality it feels like a year away.

I had a dream about our baby a few nights ago. It was a pretty strange dream, but it left me with a good feeling. Here's how it went: We went in for the delivery and something went wrong, they had to put me under and I missed the whole birth. Once I came around from the amnesia, I remember I was mad at AJ for some reason cause he got to see it happen and I didn't. Then they brought our little boy in (that's right it was a boy in my dream. Maybe it's prophetic.:-D) I remember breast feeding for the first time and I remember that it hurt, but I also was overwhelmed with the strongest feelings of love...it was like nothing I've ever felt before.... I woke up and even though I've loved this baby from the moment s/he was conceived, that love seemed to grow by like a million times after this dream. I can only imagine how I'm going to feel when I'm holding him/her in my arms.

In other news, I have my physical therapy appointment on Wednesday, not sure what to expect at that. I'm hoping they can do something for my headaches... the last few days they have been a little bit better, I've been able to make it through the day at least without needing Tylenol to survive, so I'm really hoping that that's a sign that my body is getting used to the hormones. We'll have to see.

I also got into a little fender bender a few days ago. Scary for that to happen when your pregnant, I was so terrified for the baby, even though it was only a little bump in reality it was still scary. Basically I slid down a hill because of some ice and hit a car stopped at the red light. Luckily I hit someone I work with so it was someone who at least understands.
