Week 23!

How far along?: 23 weeks!
Total Weight Gain: 8 lbs.
How big is baby?: Yay! We've reached the 1lb mark!! He's also about a foot long! (probably longer considering how much he has been kicking me!)
Best moment this week?: Seeing him kicking from the outside, it is so cool to be able to watch the acrobatics he's doing in there!
Food cravings?: Cereal
Belly button in or out?: In
What I'm looking forward to: Putting the rocking chair together, it's coming today!
Milestone: His fingerprints are formed and he's going to start opening his eyes soon!
Feelings this week?: I LOVE my husband! He totally surprised me by putting the nursery together, such a sweetheart, and let's not forget my inlaws. My mother-in-law is (I'm sure,) the one who checked that all the lines and everything were straight (and made the most adorable wall letters) and my father-in-law helped AJ put up the crown molding. It was a nice surprise to come home from work to. Now we just need to put the rocking chair together and then we will be done! All except for the little stuff which I think we're going to have to wait on until after the baby shower. Other than that I am enjoying the fact that AJ is able to feel Sam move now and it is so fun to sit and watch him wiggling around in there! I also have a doctors appointment today, but I will update with that after we get back!

Week 22!

How far along?: 22 weeks!
Total Weight Gain: 6 lbs. (Really only 1 after the 5lbs I lost in the beginning.)
How big is baby?: 12 inches and about 12-13 oz. We're getting closer to the 1lb mark!
Best moment this week?: AJ felt him kick last night!!
Food cravings?: Fruit, spicy food.
Belly button in or out?: In
What I'm looking forward to: Next week we get to put the wall paper up!
Milestone: Sam is practicing his breathing and stregnthening those lungs!
Feelings this week?: Just so happy. I am starting to get big... (Though in 10 weeks I will probably say I am tiny now, lol.) I am getting really excited and so is AJ. We started the nursery, got the crib and changing table put together and Nana and AJ painted the bedroom. Next week we are putting up the wallpaper then it's just getting a mattress and we will be mostly done! Though I think we're going to put a ceiling fan and light in the room as well so we won't be completely done for a while. I've also realized this week that Sam likes the sound of our voices. AJ and I were having a pretty rousing discussion about the new Health Care plan and Sam would stop moving for a few seconds whenever AJ would say something, then he would be a kicking fool, I know he knows his Daddy already. :-)

Update! Week 21!

How far along?: 21 weeks!
Total Weight Gain: We're still looking at about 4-5lbs.
How big is baby?: He's 11 inches long and about 12-13 oz.
Best moment this week?: Feeling him kick from the outside!
Food cravings?: Cereal and bananas.
Belly button in or out?: In still, maybe in the next month or two.
What I'm looking forward to: setting up and decorating the room.
Milestone: Sam is dreaming this week!
Feelings this week?: Just excited, we had a 3-D ultrasound today and it was just amazing, of course Sam is like his Daddy and doesn't like pictures, so for the first little while he was hiding his face from us, but eventaully he moved his hand so we could see him. He is just so adorable already, I can't wait to cuddle him! We are going back in eight weeks for another one to see how much he has grown. Also I'm just relieved that they confirmed that he was a boy, lol!

Weekly Update!

Forgive me for not having a better picture, I took this as soon as I woke up so my hair and everything is crazy, so I though a belly shot was the way to go!

How far along?: 20 weeks!! AAHH!! We're halfway there finally!! Now only 20 more to go!!
Total Weight Gain: According to the scale this morning, we're up to 4lbs.
How big is baby?: Sam is probably between 10 1/2-11 inches long and 11-12 oz.
Best moment this week?: Being able to finally refer to the baby as Sam!!
Movement: Yup, I can feel the little nudges in there!
Food cravings?: You know I've come to the conclusion that Sam definately has AJ's tastes in food. All he wants is either sweet or spicy. One minute it'll be candy (like right now, lol) and the next it's anything with tobasco on it!!
Belly button in or out?: In still, maybe in the next month or two.
What I'm looking forward to: decorating the room.
Milestone: We're now at the point where Sam is mostly going to start filling out and gaining weight, all his major organs are developed and they are just continuing to grow! We're halfway there baby!
Feelings this week?: I am extremely happy this week. I love my little Sam. :-) I also found out that my brother is also having a boy, Sam will have a cousin close in age to him! I remember family gatherings when I was a kid, what made is so fun was being able to hang out with my cousins, and I have a cousin, Luke who was born 8 days before me. Other than that, I am just loving being pregnant. This is the best time of my life so far besides my wedding. I heard this new Alan Jackson song on the radio the other day and it made me cry cause I kept thinking about how I felt about my sweet little boy. I was born to do this. I'm going to love being a mom when my little one gets here.

It's Just That Way
Alan Jackson
That ol' sun comes up every mornin'
And goes back down at the end of every day
It's just that way
Stars show up every evenin'
Man in the moon comes up to play
It's just that way

And lovin' you is something I was born to do
It's just that way

The ocean wet the desert dry
Don't ask me why, 'cause I can't say
It's just that way
As sure as the world keeps turnin'
My love for you will never change
Oh, it's just that way

And lovin' you is something I was born to do
It's just that way
And lovin' you is something I was born to do
It's just that way

That ol' sun comes up every mornin', it's just that way

Weekly Update!

First some extremely exciting news, AJ and I had our ultrasound today and found out we are having a BOY!!! It took the ultrasound tech about 30 minutes to see everything and find it because my little boy was playing with himself and wouldn't move his hand! HA! I find that hilarious and the first thing I said to AJ: "Well, he's your son!" We are elated and so happy because the Dr said that he was completely normal and healthy! Our little Samuel Andrew is completely perfect!

How far along?: 19 Weeks!

Total Weight Gain: The Dr weighed me today and I have officially gained 3 lbs.
How big is baby?: 10 inches head to toe, and weighs 10 oz!
Best moment this week?: Figuring out what we are having and seeing the beautiful little face up there. Also feeling the baby more.
Food cravings?: jello instant cheese cake, and del taco fries with del scorco sauce.
Belly button in or out?: In still but not for long!
What I'm looking forward to: AJ being able to feel the baby from the outside.
Milestone: Everything looked healthy on the ultrasound!
Feelings this week?: WE ARE HAVING A BOY!!!!! Our little Samuel Andrew was so beautiful up on that screen. I couldn't have been happier to hear that we are getting a Son. Just happy, so very happy and thankful to God that our little boy is healthy and growing. He is measuring a little ahead, (by four days) so I'm sure he is going to follow the Caldwell tradition and be a bigger baby. I'm just hoping he decides to come early so I won't have to struggle to push him out! Lol. AJ and and I, we are just sooo happy!

Almost there!

So, tomorrow is the big day! I really should be doing some chores while I have the time, but I find I can't concentrate on anything for more than five seconds! I can't believe we are already at this point. It really feels like yesterday that we were just starting this and now we're almost halfway done!!

Our little monkey already has a personality I think. I get kicked when s/he is hungry and after I eat something I get lots more kicks as if s/he is in there saying: "Thanks Mama, I really liked that!" At least that's how it feels since it's mostly after I eat. The last two days have been amazing... a week ago I was barely feeling the hint of those little nudges and now I can sit for an hour and just feel tons of little kicks and punches in there. I really can't wait for AJ to be able to feel them too. Sometimes I lay with my hand on my tummy trying to feel them from the outside, nothing yet, but I don't think it's too far off!

Ah well AJ is home so I'm off to entertain him for a while and try not to watch the clock too much, thank God I decided to schedule this in the morning!
