Is it really still January??? Now that we're closing in on the halfway mark it feels like the days are dragging on incessently. Really I'm ready for my next appointment, I'm assuming I am going to be scheduling the gender ultrasound at that appointment, so I've only got to wait five more days to know when the ultrasound is, and then it's going to be another 4 or 5 weeks until the actual ultrasound! I'm ready to start calling this baby by its proper name, lol.
I also can't decide whether I think this is a boy or girl, I was totally convinced it was a girl last week and now I feel like maybe it's a boy. I was listening to the heartbeat yesterday, and it's so funny now because I can hear it loud and clear, it usually doesn't take much to find it anymore, but once I do find it the baby likes to move away and I have to find it again, it's so fun cause I can hear it moving around in there. Anyways, whenever I talk about that or when AJ was there listening, I noticed that without consciously thinking about it I kept referring to the baby as a him or a he. So maybe it's a boy, we'll find out in March!

Weekly Update!
How far along?: 14 Weeks!!!
Total Weight Gain: Nope, none at all. I'm really starting to think that I will be like my Mom and not gain any weight.
How big is baby?: 4 inches
Maternity clothes?: I've started wearing a few of Sarah's Mat shirts that she gave me, but they are still too big... I need to go get new shirts, but I have a hard time spending $20 on a shirt that I will wear for only six months.
Stretch marks?: My current stretch marks are growing.
Sleep?: I get plenty of sleep, though I have found that I wake up in the middle of the night very often now.
Best moment this week?: Putting the Maternity shirt on for the first time and noticing that I do have a belly!
Movement?: Yes and no, I keep thinking I'm feeling something, but then if I focus on it it goes away. It's too early for it to be tangible.
Food cravings?: Cereal, any type of fruit.
Belly button in or out?: In
What I'm looking forward to: My next appointment, NEXT WEEK! We should know when our gender ultrasound will be!
Milestone: The baby can now suck its thumb and make faces!

13 Week Belly Pic!
Weekly Update
How far along?: 13 weeks! Getting closer to the halfway point!
Total weight gain: Still no weight gain, but I'm trying to gain some weight. I usually drink skim milk, but I bought 2% and I'm eating constantly. So hopefully I can gain a few pounds before my next Drs Appt. (I NEVER thought I'd be trying to gain weight! Lol)
How big is baby?: 3 1/2 inches or about the size of a peach!
Maternity clothes?: I'm looking at buying some Maternity shirts right now! So excited for that!
Stretch marks?: Well my old stretch marks are getting bigger at the bottom. So I have tangible proof that I am growing!
Sleep?: I am sleeping pretty awesomely tonight.
Best moment this week?: Noticing more and more how AJ likes to touch and pet my belly.
Movement?: Honestly I don't know, I thought I felt it at one point but I haven't felt it since so I think it must have been gas. :-(
Food cravings?: Lemonade, bratwursts, bread, anything with mustard/ketchup on it, Arby's
Belly button in or out?: In
What I'm looking forward to: My next appointment, only two weeks away!! Figuring out when the Gender Ultrasound is going to be!!
Milestone: We've officially picked our girls name: Gabriella Jane, so we're going to have a Gabriella or a Samuel. I'm excited that's finally done!

starting to get excited!
I'm really, really starting to get excited now! So many things are going so well that it's hard not to, I am growing more every day, though I know that most other people can't tell, when I look in the mirror, or when AJ looks at me we both see the difference. I'm probably going to start buying maternity tops so I can have shirts long enough to cover my growing belly. And I know I need new pants since these are getting too tight. (I just bought these a few months ago and they are MATERNITY!!) I need some that pull up over the belly instead of sitting underneath it. My fetal doppler works like a charm and I can find the baby's heartbeat almost instantly now, it is so fast and sweet sounding. Sometimes I just love to sit and listen to it. :-) I also think I am feeling movement. I know that people say I'm crazy that I'm only 12 weeks and it's too early, that's it's probably gas, but I swear this is something else. I have never felt this before, it's almost like a muscle twitch a little bump feeling from the inside. And I get this wierd feeling with them. This just started happening the last two days... I swear I'm feeling this baby.
I went to see my coworker after work yesterday, he just had his first baby on the 11th. She was so sweet and tiny and suprisingly alert for only four days old. I got to hold her and cuddle with her and I'm sitting there in awe of the fact that I am going to have one of these tiny things one day. And to see Anthony with her and how he is completely head over heels in love with that baby girl, I am excited to see that same look in AJ's eyes when we get to hold our little one.
I also am starting to think it is a girl. Honestly it started with the name dilemma (which we still haven't solved.) Once we threw out our name for a girl and started from scratch, well it just feels like we're going to have a girl since we're having a hard time picking a name now. Plus I just have this feeling like it's a girl. I'll be excited to find out if my intuitions are right in March, though they have been right every time so far!
As far as the name goes we are in-between two names right now. I like Mackayla (AJ likes this spelling better then the one I had chosen.) Jane. But AJ like Gabriella Jane more. If we go with Mackayla AJ said he will call her Mac, lol. If we go with Gabriella we will call her Ella for short. My fear of Gabriella is the nickname Gabby, I HATE that nickname, it sounds ugly to me, and I'm worried people will automatically try to call her that. So we are stuck right now. We tossed Emily after finding out that Emily was the top 10 name in 2009 and after being one out of 5 Ashley's on my softball team in high school, well I don't want our little one to go through that. So we're still deciding. We are sticking with Jane for the middle name, now we just need a first name to go with it. Let me know if you have suggestions!

Heard the Heartbeat!!
I got my fetal doppler in the mail today. I really didn't think it was going to work very well yet, since it was only $30 and I am overweight and not officially out of the first trimester, so I tried it as soon as I got it and couldn't hear anything. I tried for about 2 hours and couldn't find it. So I looked up some stuff online and it said to wait until you have to pee really bad and then try, and guess what! I found it!! I was so excited I almost started crying, and AJ was able to hear it too. I counted the BPM with my stop watch and it was like 154 BPM. Which is a little less than before, but it's normal to drop a little. (Plus my counting is not as accurate as a machine, lol.) I'm excited for when I can hear it without going through all the trouble. This was such a great investment and I will probably use it for my other pregnancies. This is so exciting!!
Some changes!
Well for the last few years we thought we had our names picked out: Samuel Andrew for a boy and Abigail Nancy for a girl. But both AJ and I have been thinking about our name choices and we are still set on Samuel Andrew for a boy, (Samuel is a family name on both sides and Andrew is AJ's name.) But for a girl we've decided that we don't really like Abigail that much. I would love to keep the name Nancy as a middle name, but it's just not going to work, there isn't enough first names that go with it. So.... we've changed our name. Now this isn't concrete since we both still want to look in case we see something we like better. (Though I think we are about 95% sure on this at this point. It's the only name that we can agree on, lol.) We are thinking of Emily Jane for a girl. Emily has always been a favorite name of mine and Jane is a family name on both sides, (It's AJ's Grandma's middle name and it's on my side too, though AJ insists that it's not really a family name on my side since siblings and cousins don't count, even though I think it's a great great grandparent or something.) So we're either looking at an Emily Jane or a Samuel Andrew. We'll know in March! Only a few more months to go!! I can't wait!

Weekly Update!
How far along?: 11weeks today! One more week until I'm out of the first trimester officially!
Total weight gain: None! I have actually lost 5 pounds. But since I'm overweight it's no biggie.
How big is baby?: 2 inches
Maternity clothes?: No shirts yet, though I don't think those are far off. But Mat pants are a must have, my old jeans don't button anymore!
Stretch marks?: None from the pregnancy, just old ones.
Sleep?: Well I went to be at 7 last night.
Best moment this week?: Seeing the baby on the Ultrasound moving and jumping and twisting around. We have a wild one in there!
Movement?: Not that I can feel
Food cravings?: Sunflower seeds, fruit, bean burritos from DelTaco or Taco Bell. (Think I'm going to head down to Kings and get some frozen lemonade.)
Belly button in or out?: In
What I'm looking forward to: The fetal heart doppler that I got off of Amazon (only $30!) so I can hear the baby's heartbeat. I think it will be really cool if it works like it's supposed to and I can let my nieces and nephews hear. My next appointment on Feb 3rd and my gender ultrasound in March! Only 9 weeks!
Milestone: Seeing the baby moving around inside me and knowing that we're now in the fetal stage instead of the embryonic stage, so we're past the period of greatest risk for birth defects!

Jumping Bean!
Well today we had our appointment. It was amazing and so awesome. (Once again, LOVE my Dr.) I thought they were only going to do a doppler to hear the HB, but my Dr said it might be too early and brought the portable U/S machine in to take a look at the baby. Boy was I suprised when she put the wand on my tummy and the baby popped up right away doing rolls and kicks and twists! It was so amazing to see it moving all around in there! It is so wierd to think that my baby is so active, but I'm not feeling it yet. (Though sometimes I think I'm feeling it, but AJ just tells me its gas, lol.) I should have had AJ take a video, but I didn't know it would be so active, I did get a picture though you can't see much. It looks like a baby now instead of a tadpole, lol.

We also decided to make the big announcement today since everything is looking so good. We got a lot of amazing responses and well wishes! Everyone else is just as excited as us! Now, only 29 more weeks to go and 204 days!
